of the Dubai Watch Week 2017
The Maison Chopard took part in the Dubai Watch Week, the main regional event dedicated to fine horology held at the Gate DIFC.
Dubai Watch Week 2017
November 16th to 20th: Launched in 2015 the Dubai Watch Week is a global platform dedicated to the preservation of horological culture and heritage. By creating one of the largest non-commercial events for the international watch community, the event provides an intimate environment for collectors, brands, watchmakers and the members of the media to interact and share knowledge. Held under the Patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice Chairman of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, Dubai Watch Week supports the men and women that have dedicated their life to the pursuit of horological perfection.
L.U.C in-house movements in the spotlight
Since 1996, no less than eleven watch movement families encompassing over 70 variations have been developed at the Chopard Manufacture in Fleurier. COSC and Fleurier Quality Foundation certifications as well as the Poinçon de Genève bear testimony to the quality, durability and accuracy of these calibres. Chopard Manufacture in Fleurier brings together all the professions necessary to realize its timepieces from their conception through to the finished models. The Maison Chopard is producing in-house movements to an extremely high level in the hills of Fleurier while also making its own cases and smelting its own gold in the Geneva workshops. Age-old decorative techniques are entirely performed by hand, enabling the Maison Chopard to offer authentically unique pieces, since in terms of decoration and finishing each watch will end up being completely different from any others.
At the Dubai Watch Week this year, the Maison Chopard exhibited its 2017 novelties: the L.U.C Lunar One, Calibre 96.13-L that is a gem in the crown of Chopard Manufacture, as well as the L.U.C Perpetual Chrono, Calibre 03.10-L, a finely crafted movement. Also on display at the booth was the L.U.C XP equipped with an original ultra-thin self-winding movement Calibre 96.53-L. Some other novelties were showcased such as the L.U.C XPS Twist QF Fairmined equipped with a self-winding movement Calibre 96.09-L, a timepiece that reaffirms Chopard’s pioneering determination to pursue and increase its use of ethical gold. The L.U.C XP Esprit de Fleurier Peony was also on display to amaze the visitors, an entirely in-house produced timepiece of art.
