Elysée

Beaufort produced unique, high-quality watches under the brand name. About 40 years later the brand was registered in Germany for the first time. The Harer business, based in the gold town of Pforzheim, marketed pieces manufactured in its own workshops, under the ELYSEE name. These were principally made of the exclusive precious metal gold.

The qualified bank clerk and management expert Reiner Seume ran a consumer goods import business during the Eighties. Among other things, it is watches which extend his portfolio. In this period he began, not only collecting old watches, but also consolidating and expanding his import trade with watches. The desire to market his own collection of watches under his own brand name grew ever greater. While visiting Paris he stumbled by chance across the brand Elysee. Reiner Seume liked the name and right away busied himself with the brand and trademarks, which at the start of the Nineties he owned too. At first he could only use the brand and trademarks in Germany but over time he obtained them for his international business too. In the year 2000 the businessman entered the export business.

At the start of the Nineties Reiner Seume established Elysee Uhren GmbH on the Düsseldorf site and launched, under the ELYSEE brand name, his first collection of watches. Today the passionate businessman and watch lover, who in the meantime has become the owner of around 100 antique timepieces, employs 15 workers at the site. From here distri-bution, logistics and dispatch are managed. Next door the current headquarters in Düsseldorf houses customer service, design and marketing. In addition the finishing of ELYSEE watches takes place in our own workshops here in Düsseldorf.

Today we supply approximately 400 specialist retailers in Germany as well as about 25 select export markets. Russia, USA, South Africa, Hong Kong and the Middle East are among the most important export markets.
